Terms and Conditions
Version: August 2026
§1 Scope & provider
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the contractual relationship between Centric
Software International Ltd. (“provider”, “we”) and the users (“user”, “you”) of the service
testr, available at testr.software and as an app for iOS.
By using the service you accept these Terms. If the app is obtained through a distribution platform (e.g. the Apple App Store), that platform's terms apply in addition; with regard to obtaining the app you are a direct contractual partner of the platform.
Deviating, conflicting or supplementary terms of the user do not become part of the contract unless the provider expressly agrees to them in writing.
§2 Description of the service
testr is a tool for manual test plans. A user creates projects, builds a question catalogue of sections, groups and check items inside them, and invites testers by personal link. Testers answer the check items in their browser with works, does not work or cannot be tested and may add comments and image evidence. The user continuously sees the evaluation, the fault list and the matrix check item × tester.
The range of features is the same in every plan. The plans differ only in size (number of projects, testers and check items) as well as in the availability of the public application page (“landing page”) and the kind of support — see §4.
The provider develops the service continuously. There is no entitlement to the permanent availability of individual features, feature scopes or design elements; §10 remains unaffected.
§3 Account & conclusion of contract
Using testr requires an account. It is created by providing an e-mail address and a password (at least 8 characters). After registration the user receives a confirmation e-mail; the contract comes into effect once the link it contains has been confirmed.
The account is valid for testr only. Other applications of the provider (such as MyTripWallet) maintain separate accounts with their own credentials, even if the same e-mail address is used. Signing in to testr does not grant access to any other service of the provider, and vice versa.
The user undertakes to provide truthful information when registering and to keep their credentials secret. Use is permitted to consumers and businesses alike. Registration requires the user to be at least 16 years old or to have the consent of a legal guardian.
Testers do not need an account. They receive a personal link and are therefore not contractual partners under these Terms; the contractual partner is solely the user who invites them (see §7).
§4 Plans, prices & payment
testr is offered in three plans. All prices include statutory VAT where applicable.
| Feature | Free | Premium | Premium Plus | Enterprise |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | €0 | €19 / month | €49 / month | €199 / month |
| Projects | 1 | 10 | 25 | unlimited |
| Testers per project | 3 | 25 | 50 | unlimited |
| Check items per catalogue | 25 | 250 | 500 | unlimited |
| Public application page | – | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Support | Documentation | Named contact |
The Free plan can be used free of charge indefinitely and is subject to the quantity limits above. Premium, Premium Plus and Enterprise are subject to a charge and are billed monthly.
Reaching a limit
When a quantity limit is reached, existing projects, catalogues and test sheets remain fully usable. Only the creation of further units is blocked until the plan is changed or existing units are deleted. A catalogue above the limit remains fully readable and testable and merely cannot be filled any further. Counting is per catalogue, not across all projects combined.
Payment processing
Payments in the web application are processed through the payment service providers Stripe, PayPal or SumUp; their terms additionally apply to the payment transaction. The provider does not receive complete payment instrument data. If the purchase is made through a distribution platform, that platform's terms govern the transaction; the provider has no influence over payment processing there.
Paid plans renew automatically for the billing period (one month) unless cancelled before it ends. There is no setup fee.
§5 Term, cancellation & withdrawal
The free account (Free) runs for an indefinite period and can be ended by the user at any time via the danger zone in the account area of the administration (see §12).
Paid plans can be cancelled with effect from the end of the current billing period — with monthly payment, therefore, monthly. Once the paid period ends, the Free plan and its limits apply again. Projects already created are kept — until the stock is back below the limit, new ones simply cannot be created. A plan change is possible at any time in both directions.
Right of withdrawal for digital content
Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. That right expires prematurely if the user has expressly agreed to immediate performance of the contract before the withdrawal period ends and has confirmed awareness of losing the right of withdrawal as a result — for instance by the immediate activation of the higher plan after purchase. For purchases through a distribution platform, that platform's terms govern the exercise of the right.
§6 Obligations of the user
The user undertakes
- to use the service only within applicable law and not to enter or send any unlawful, offensive or third-party-rights-infringing content (for example in check items, comments or image evidence),
- to keep credentials confidential and not to grant third parties access to the account,
- to process personal data of third parties stored in the service only on an appropriate legal basis,
- not to take any measures that may impair the operation of the service or its server infrastructure (for example automated bulk requests or reverse engineering beyond what is legally permitted).
In the event of breaches, the provider may restrict access or, after prior warning, suspend the account.
§7 Testers & applications
The user invites testers by entering their name and e-mail address. The provider then sends an invitation e-mail with a personal link on the user's behalf. The user warrants that they are entitled to use the contact data they enter.
In data protection terms the user is the controller for their testers' data and the provider is the processor, merely supplying the technical infrastructure. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is available from the provider on request at the address given in §15.
From the Premium plan upwards the user may enable a public application page for a project on which interested people can enter themselves as testers. An application only becomes tester access after the e-mail address has been confirmed and the user has expressly approved it. Unconfirmed applications expire after seven days. The provider limits applications per sender IP address, hour and project in order to prevent abuse.
A tester's access consists solely of a link containing a project identifier and a token. Whoever holds that link can work on the assigned test sheet, so the user should not distribute invitation links publicly. Individual testers can be blocked or deleted in the administration at any time.
§8 Data, content & storage
The user remains the owner of the content entered by them and their testers (catalogues, answers, comments, image evidence, tester master data).
The data of each account is stored on the provider's server in a separate directory assigned to that account. The files holding testers' names and e-mail addresses cannot be fetched directly over the web; only the server reads them, and permission is checked on every single request. Details are set out in the privacy policy.
The user can export the complete loaded state of a project as a JSON file at any time. The provider recommends creating this export before deleting a project or the account — deleted content cannot be restored.
A test sheet state not yet transmitted is buffered in the tester's browser and sent automatically as soon as a connection is available again.
§9 Rights of use & intellectual property
All rights in the service itself, in particular software, design, logos and the testr brand, belong to the provider or its licensors. The user is granted a simple, non-transferable and non-sublicensable right to use the service for their own private or business purposes within the scope of these Terms.
The provider acquires no rights in content entered by the user beyond what is technically necessary to operate, display, back up and deliver the service.
Reverse engineering, removing notices of rights and distributing modified versions are prohibited unless permitted by law.
§10 Availability & changes
The provider endeavours to ensure high availability of the service but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance work, technical faults or events beyond the provider's control (force majeure, failures of third parties such as hosting or payment providers) may lead to temporary restrictions. No availability commitment in the form of a service level agreement exists.
The provider reserves the right to adapt or extend the range of features in the course of further development, or to discontinue individual features, provided this is reasonable considering the legitimate interests of the user. Substantial restrictions affecting the core of a paid service will, as far as possible, be announced to paying users with reasonable notice.
§11 Liability
The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, under product liability law, for injury to life, body or health, and within the scope of guarantees given.
In the event of slightly negligent breach of a material contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance the user may regularly rely, liability is limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise liability for slightly negligent breaches of duty is excluded.
The above limitations of liability also apply in favour of the provider's legal representatives and vicarious agents where claims are asserted directly against them.
For loss of data the provider is liable only to the extent that would have arisen had the user carried out proper and regular data backups.
No substitute for your own quality assurance
testr documents test results; it does not verify them. The provider gives no warranty for the accuracy, completeness or significance of the ratings entered by testers and is not liable for decisions the user makes on the basis of an evaluation. Securing important results is the user's own responsibility (§8).
§12 Suspension & account deletion
The user can irrevocably delete their account in the app at any time. In doing so all projects, catalogues, tester data, answers and image evidence are removed from the server and the account is deactivated. This action cannot be undone; a backup of important content should be created beforehand.
Deletion affects the account for testr only. The user's accounts with other applications of the provider remain unaffected and must be deleted there separately.
The provider is entitled to suspend or terminate an account in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these Terms after prior warning with a reasonable deadline. Fees already paid for service periods not yet rendered will in that case be refunded pro rata unless the law provides otherwise.
§13 Changes to these terms
The provider reserves the right to amend these Terms with effect for the future where this is necessary for legal reasons, because of changes to the service, or to adapt to changed technical or economic conditions, and where this does not unreasonably disadvantage the user. Users will be informed of substantial changes in the application or by e-mail with reasonable notice.
If the user does not object to the amended Terms within six weeks of receiving the notice of change, or continues to use the service after that period, the amended Terms are deemed accepted. The provider will separately point out this consequence and the right to object in the notice of change.
§14 Final provisions
English law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If the user is a consumer, this applies only to the extent that it does not restrict the protection of mandatory consumer protection provisions of their habitual residence.
If the user is a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the registered office of the provider in London, England is — as far as legally permissible — the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising out of or in connection with this contract.
Should any provision of these Terms be or become invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected. The statutory rule takes the place of the invalid provision.
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. The provider is neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
